1770

we headed to 1770 we arrived late. In the morning we walked along the beach stopping at two playgrounds. In the afternoon we went on a Larc. A larc is a car and a boat used in the army. It was built in 1965. I did the splashdown. A splashdown is when you go up the mudflats then you blast down the flats and into the water. I saw a kangaroo and an emu.

The caravan park wanted us to set up on a slab but we ended up getting a grassed unsite site at a different park.
We went to Fraser Island. We drove the car and got a ferry across.
We went on a whale watching tour. We saw whales slapping their tails on the water.

Airlie Beach and Mackay

After leaving Townsville we headed south to Airlie Beach. I stayed in Airlie beach for five nights at the Airlie Cove resort. The caravan park had a water park and a pool that had a waterside going into it.

There we lots of shops in the town.

They didn't have any grassed sites so we had to set up on a concrete slab.

Abigail fell face first on concrete near the toilet block and had to go to the doctor. She got a lemonade icy pole when she went to the IGA with Mum.

After leaving the whitsundays we headed to Mackay. half way through setting up the camper we had lunch. We finished setting up and it was the best caravan park for scooters. Dad tried to extend mine but he put it up too far and it snapped in half. So we drove into town and I got a new one!

We came back to the caravan park and rode our new scooters. My scooter is blue and silver and it went up to speed 5.

The next day we drove to the supermarket to get shopping. Then we drove to the playground. Mum and dad had coffee and cake and my sisters and I got a giant cookie. We drove to the marina. We went on a four wheel drive track and we rescued a Cherry car. It was bogged and dad got out the snatch strap.

We had $5 all you can eat souvalakis for our dinner at the caravan park. The next day we did the sugar mill tour in Serina. You have to be over 1.2 metres to do the big tour so we nay did the little tour. We saw machines when they first came out. we saw a mini mill that they had called Bill the Mill. It made sugar from sugar cane. We got fairy floss each. I ate mine a different way, I bite it!

Townsville

I am in townsville . I have been to Australia’s biggest coral reef aquarium called Reef HQ.

It had 130 species of coral reef and 120 species of fish. The best fish was a golden trevelly. It was gold and little.

Paronella Park

After leaving Mareeba we headed to Atherton Tablelands. But we did not stop in Atherton. We kept on driving to innisfail and found on the map book Etti Bay. We drove 7km out to the coast and had lunch and then headed back inland and we went to paronella Park. We arrived at 3pm.

Paronella Park was built by Jose Paronella He died. We went on the 4.30pm tour and we saw the castle and trees. But these were not ordinary trees they were Karrie Trees. The army got their colours from the camo trunks of the trees. The castle was very over grown it was made of cement and old railway tracks. We walked down the grand staircase.

I fed the turtles and the black bream fish. There was heaps of fish . There was heaps of turtles and it looked like they were building a house on the bank of the river.

There was 2 waterfalls. The first was called Mena Falls. It had a suspension bridge over it. The second was called Teresa falls after Joses daughter. An eel lived in the stream. It was called Troll. He was three times the size he was supposed to be.

There was a tunnel at the end of lovers land. It was called the tunnel of love. It was first an aquarium but he forgot to put waterproofing in it so it leaked. Then it was for his wife to grow mushrooms. Every time the micro bats came she clung onto him so he decided to open it as a lovers tunnel.

Next to lovers lane was changerooms and they are nothing like they are today!

We went on the 6.15pm night time tour. When you go to the big part of the castle it lights up and there is music. It looks like a Disney movie!

Paronella Park was exciting and interesting
